Long-running Off-Off Broadway hit THE SUBLET EXPERIMENT has been performing in actual New York City apartments since November 2006. The show will have its final performance May 20th. Written by Ethan Youngerman and directed by Michelle Tattenbaum, the play travels from neighborhood to neighborhood, apartment to apartment and has played to consistently sold out houses. By the closing date, the production will have had performances in 18 different apartments in 4 boroughs and 2 states. The company celebrates its 6 month anniversary on May 13th. Despite its enormous popularity among New York audiences, the producers have decided to focus their attention on regional prductions. "If we can make it in the Bronx, we can make it anywhere," said Tattenbaum. "Anywhere that has apartments, that is."

In THE SUBLET EXPERIMENT, a serial sublettor, a reality show reject and the worst bank robbers in history collide. It is a comic thriller about love, identity and identity theft as two young people try to find themselves, but end up finding each other.

THE SUBLET EXPERIMENT stars Erin Maya Darke, Adam Hyland, Christian Maurice, and Stephen Squibb -- 3 of whom have been in the cast since the first performance. The production features costumes by Jessica Pabst and sound by Tim Boyce.

The play is presented by Ethan Youngerman and Michelle Tattenbaum. Youngerman's plays have been workshopped or performed at MTC, FringeNYC, the Irish Arts Center and the Hangar Theater. He's a recent graduate of the NYU Dramatic Writing MFA and his first feature-length screenplay is in pre-production with RGM in Australia. Tattenbaum has directed for the Lincoln Center Directors' Lab, FringeNYC, Here Arts Center, and NY Musical Theatre Festival. She previously directed Youngerman's play An Archipelago of Clouds for FringeNYC.
